About SEOnaut

Hi there!

My name is Ivan and I’ve been working on this SEO auditing tool for the past few months. I’m building this tool to help me keep track of my own websites and avoid any critical errors that could affect their search engine optimization.

On the other hand, I’d been wanting to learn the Go programming language for a while, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Go is known for its simplicity and concurrency features, which made it a great fit for this tool. I get to learn a new language while also creating something I need for myself—it’s a win-win!

It’s been a bit of a challenge to switch from languages like PHP and JavaScript, but as I started to get a better understanding of Go and how to use it to build my tool, I was completely hooked and having a lot of fun with it. I’m also pleasantly surprised at how minimalistic the language is and how supportive and encouraging the Go community has been.

After completing the first version of the software and ensuring that it met all of my requirements, I chose to make it available to the general public. Eventually, I also made the source code publicly available under an open source license, allowing anyone to use, modify, and extend the software as they see fit.

Sharing the source code and allowing others to access it often leads to better and more refined products. This is a common benefit of open-source projects, as it allows for a wide range of knowledge and perspectives to be brought to the table and incorporated into the development process. By open sourcing SEOnaut and inviting others to participate, we can work together and learn from each other while building tools that help us create better websites.
